When considering if you should vote for Barack Obama, or any other presidential candidate, a number of questions arise. Some of them may not be appropriate, but they get asked anyway. Examples include:
  • Is he qualified?
  • Is he smart enough with good ideas?
  • Is it good to have a black President?
  • What school did he go to?
  • What hood did he grow up in?
Here you can find some of the answers to your questions, which you can use to make an informed decision in the 2008 presidential election.

Is He Qualified

Barack Obama studied law at Harvard Law School, which means he has a thorough knowledge of law and lawmaking. This is a strength for Obama, because he can use this knowledge to create laws that will actually work.

Is he smart and does he have good ideas?

Not only did he study at Harvard Law School, he became the first black President of the Harvard Law Review. This prestigious position easily demonstrates that he has significant intelligence. His ideas are often really detailed, and they make economic and social sense in most cases.

Is it good to have a black President?

This is one of those questions that might not be right to ask. Why does it matter? It could even help repair racial tensions that have existed in the United States for years.

What school did he go to?

As mentioned above, Obama went to Harvard Law. Before going to Harvard, he first graduated from Columbia University. Obama went to college on a combination of scholarships and student loans, because he did not grow up in a wealthy family.

What hood did he grow up in?

This is another example of the senseless questions people might ask, judging him automatically by his race. Obama grew up most of his life in Kansas, was born in Hawaii, and even spent a couple years living in Indonesia.
